Sunday Service 10 AM
Coffee Fellowship begins at 9:30 AM. This is a chance for our congregation members to catch up with one another, and welcome guests.
Calvary Chapel Ocean Gateway holds a prayer time at 9:45 AM for the service. Any interested are invited to take part.
Calvary Chapel Ocean Gateway teaches verse by verse from the Bible, rather than topically. This type of expositional teaching keeps scripture in context, provides the whole counsel of God, and reveals Christ’s presence both in the Old and New Testaments to grow believers in their faith.
The Bible encourages us to seek nourishment from such “solid food”:
“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, to those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Heb. 5: 12-13).
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper by taking communion once a month.
On the last Sunday of the month, we have a friendly Covered Dish Lunch (“potluck”) after service.
Children’s Church (concurrent with Sunday Service for adults)
“And the Child [Jesus] grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him” (Luke 2: 40).
As our children grow, we want to teach and equip them with the full counsel of God, and the knowledge of how much they are loved. As they mature in the Word, we believe they will develop a biblical world view, and a desire to share what Jesus has done for them and for all.
The Children’s Church begins after announcements and praise (song) in the main sanctuary:
- Child care is provided for infants through 4 years old. A nursery and nursing mother’s room are, also, available.
- Classes are conducted for young children and are available for older children as an option, if parent(s) prefer. Those able to understand the teaching are encouraged to remain in the sanctuary with their parent(s).
Pat Mitchell and Diane Baudrau together lead this children’s ministry.
Bible Study – Wednesday at 7:30 PM
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thess. 5: 16-18).
Prayer begins at 7 PM on Wednesday evening. This includes the specific prayer requests of congregation members. (See, also, the Prayer Ministry, below.)
At 7:30 PM, after a time of worship, the Bible Study begins. This mid-week Bible Study is less formal than Sunday service. Questions and comments are welcome during the study time.
We are currently teaching through the Book of Genesis.
Women’s Bible Study – Alternate Saturdays at Noon
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Rom. 12: 12).
A Women’s Bible Study focuses on living the joyful life described in the Bible as we build our homes, families, careers, and church.
Our our current teaching is on the Book of Nehemiah.
Diane Baudrau, Mary Anne Iseman, and Anna Waldherr alternately teach our Women’s Bible Study. Other members join the rotation from time to time.
Prayer Ministry
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God…” (Philippians 4: 6).
We believe prayer is essential for God to accomplish His purposes on our lives individually and as a fellowship of believers. Therefore, every gathering is preceded by prayer, and individual needs are prayed for by the entire congregation throughout the week.
